2022 Glen "GB" Brandt Prize for Ag Entrepreneurism Nomination

The BRANDT Foundation seeks to honor the legacy of founder Glen "GB" Brandt by recognizing an Illinois farmer for their role in advancing innovation and entrepreneurship in the ag sector. A $10,000 cash prize will be awarded to the nominee who exemplifies an entrepreneurial spirit and advances innovation through their business practices. The recipient may use this prize on their farm how they wish. The winner will be announced at the AgTech Innovation Summit on March 9.

Eligibility

  • Nominees must live and/or operate their business in the State of Illinois.
  • Eligible nominees include Illinois farmers, producers, and growers who are advancing innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture.
  • Nominees must be connected with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign or its affiliates. Affiliation includes growers or producers who are:
    • University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Alumni
    • Conducting field trials or other research with the University
    • Working with a University of Illinois Extension office
    • A family with a student enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign who is involved in modernizing the family farm
    • Involved in the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign startup ecosystem
    • Working with University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign startups as a testbed location for AgTech
    • Farming University of Illinois farmland and applying innovative practices or technology
