A+D Lab Assistant Application

A+D Lab Assistant Application

Art & Design hires student lab assistants to staff a number of our facilities within the School, including:

  • Checkout Window (equipment and space loans)
  • Digital Output Support (computer lab, printing, and 3D printing support)
  • Service Desk (laser cutting, vinyl cutting and printing)
  • 3D Fabrication Labs (wood and metal working and other 3D fabrication processes)
  • Noble Ink Lab (only graduate students or undergraduates with junior standing and two completed printmaking courses may apply)
  • Ceramics Lab

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Hiring is done on a semester-by-semester basis, and the best time to apply for the next semester is immediately after you have scheduled your classes and know what your availability will be.

The Lab Assistant position is a general position that covers all of the above facilities, however, Assistants are typically initially trained at a single facility. If there is interest in cross-training in multiple locations, opportunities may arise in subsequent semesters. We ask that you rank your preferences for location and we do our best to match Assistants with a location that fits their experience, interest, and availability.
