The Moms Association's Medallion Of Honor Award is to recognize women of current or past affiliation with the University of Illinois who, through example and/or service, have used their talents to enrich the lives of others. This is an opportunity to congratulate a talented woman in your department!
Thank you for submitting a nomination for the Medallion of Honor. Recognizing a woman who has used her talents to enrich the lives of others through example and service, the Medallion of Honor is the most prestigious award presented by the Moms Association at the University of Illinois. While it is not essential that the candidate be a mother, she MUST be affiliated with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in some way (past or present) and have achieved a significant reputation for some talent or service that others have found enriching.
Past recipients include Amelia Alpiner Stern for her "imaginative leadership and willing response to public duty," Dr. Dora Dougherty Strother for her "contributions to aviation, her dedication to excellence in education, and her service to her country," as well as Sara K. Henry and "the other eleven President's wives who served the University of Illinois during its first one hundred years."
Nominations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 9.
Two letters of support are required to complete the nomination. Each letter must be written by a different person. One of the letters of support can be written by the nominee herself, although it is not required. More than two letters of support are welcome.
