International Safety and Security coordinates incident and emergency responses for University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign-related activities abroad.  Program leaders or coordinators must document emergencies using the Illini Abroad Incident Reporting Form.  This form is intended to supplement the initial form.  If an initial Illini Abroad Incident Reporting Form has not been submitted, please use that form as it provides more information. 

Submitting this form does not obligate the University to take immediate action, but will assist the University to determine how best to respond.

For parents, family members, and friends, please note that University communications regarding students is guided by the Family Educational Rights and Protection Act (FERPA).  This requires schools to protect the privacy of student education records.  Schools usually must have written permission from the student in order to release any information from a student's education record, including release to parents.  While some exceptions for emergencies exist, our ability to share information is limited.
