This scholarship award of $1000 is for a full-time undergraduate University of Illinois student who has successfully completed at least 24 college credit hours. This award is determined on a competitive basis and requires the submission of this application form, an essay, a letter of recommendation from someone at the University of Illinois, and college transcript(s).
The Moms Association will make their selections based on the following criteria.
• Campus Involvement: Are applicants making the very most of their time spent at the University of Illinois?
• Campus Honors and Awards: Although not mandatory to receive a scholarship, honors and awards can illustrate the degree to which applicants contribute to campus life and may serve to support their essay topic.
• Strength of Essay/ Potential to Positively Impact the University of Illinois: The essay will be the crucial piece that sets recipients apart from those applicants who do not receive an award. The Moms Association is interested in the applicant’s story -- the adversities or opportunities that propel them forward and inspire them in their studies at the University of Illinois. The members of the association like to hear about how applicants will connect those experiences to a future that will inspire other students at the University of Illinois.
